To cover hotel pillows, or to stuff with your sweatshirt for a swanky impromptu pillow in train, plane or auto.

It looks like your basic hoodie, yet, it’s built specifically for travel comfort with features including a removable inflatable neck pillow, stash pocket with ear plugs, zippered internal passport/ticket pocket and a light shield built into the hood. Genius.

Familiar with checkpoint-friendly laptop bags? They’re bags designed in a way that allows them go through airport security while your laptop remains inside—no more removing the computer and placing it in a separate bin. We can all appreciate reduced airport hassle, right? Options for this style of bag started out pretty business-oriented, and then along came this pretty thing. Pretty, but hard-working, with built-in helpers including interior pockets, key holder and an attached clear quart-sized bag for your similarly checkpoint-friendly mini toiletries.

Why oh why must laptop bags be black and businessey? This is one welcome exception, coming in four different color-design combos, none of them black. It also happens to be machine washable, reasonably priced and outfitted with a waterproof nylon interior with smart zippers and slots. You’re welcome.

Love these new wipes for freshening on the go. They’re biodegradable and scented with essential oils—half are spicy-orangey bergamot (meant for hands and body) and the other half are fresh yuzu citrus (meant for face and neck). Perfect post-flight.
BONUS: Flight 001’s having a supersale to celebrate its 10th birthday through this Sunday, April 19th—30 percent off all purchases over $50. (Use the promo code “birthday” online.) Of course, you’d have to buy two of these to get the discount, which effectively knocks them each down under $20. One for you, one for your traveling friend.

The new pima cotton (and therefore more affordable) version of White+Warren’s cashmere travel wrap. A nice, big all-weather scarf, blanket and wrap in one, it comes in a rainbow of colors.

So check this out: Crazy-light luggage—as in 5 pounds for this carry-on size—just now hitting the market. At the Travel Goods Show, I picked it up with just my one pointer finger, no problem. It’s made of mountain-tenting fabric covering a fishing-rod-style fiberglass frame. As is the necessary deal with ultra-lightweight (and therefore stripped-down) luggage, the interior’s very basic, though there are built-in shoe pockets. Pretty inexpensive, too.

Slippers that can be worn outside—great for plane rides, lobby dashes and shuffling around the campsite. In my experience, Keen does footwear right.

Snuggie Mania is sweeping the nation. As reported in a USA Today article, over four million people own what’s basically a fleece robe you wear backwards. Then there are the talk show references, the YouTube sendups, the hundreds of Facebook groups and even Snuggie pub crawls. Which begs the question: Why? According to the infomercial that made it famous, the Snuggie’s allure lies in its ability to keep you totally warm while allowing you the use of your hands, but my money’s on the “affordable kitsch” factor—two Snuggies and two book lights for twenty bucks? Hell, yeah. I hope to see people rockin’ these on airplanes, rather than solely using them at home, say, next to The Clapper and the Ch-ch-ch-chia Pet.

No worries about liquid carryon restrictions or breakage resulting in all your clothes and belongings smelling way too pretty. Great price for so many lovely little luxuries, oui?
